Over a hundred years ago, South Indian labourers carved a life in Brickfields by clearing jungle, laying railways, and planting rubber. Their first refuge was a humble hut-temple near the Klang River, dedicated to Hanuman and Muniswaran, guardian and protector deities.
Years passed. The jungle reclaimed the shrine until a warrior boy and his spirited companions rediscovered the sacred trident. The statues were restored, the hut rebuilt, and when progress called for the Kuala Lumpur monorail, the devotees moved their sanctuary to its present home.
The miracle unfolded: brick by brick, over two decades of seva, the People’s Temple took form. Today the Temple Palace of Lord Hanuman stands in splendour—an echo of 7th and 8th century Indian temple architecture built through the love, labour, and devotion of the community.
